Skills

Key responsibilities

• Translate written materials from English to Gikuyu and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Review and edit Gikuyu language content for grammar, style, tone, and clarity.
• Assess, annotate, and evaluate text data to provide input for AI model development.
• Collaborate with the customer's team to deliver high-quality linguistic insights and recommendations.
• Maintain the consistency and integrity of Gikuyu language usage across various projects.
• Contribute to innovative language tasks that may include localization, data annotation, and linguistic analysis.
• Deliver feedback on language tools and resources to enhance overall project quality.

Required skills & qualifications

• Native proficiency in Gikuyu, with advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong command of English, including professional writing and editing capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience with written content creation, review, and editing.
• Expertise in translation between English and Gikuyu.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for linguistic accuracy.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience working on linguistic data annotation or localization projects.
• Knowledge of linguistic principles or computational linguistics.
• Familiarity with AI technologies or digital content platforms.
