Key responsibilities
- Provide final legal review and sign-off on site control packages and interconnection compliance documents.
- Resolve escalated document disputes flagged by Tier 1 reviewers.
- Assess alignment of project filings with FERC regulations and PJM interconnection requirements.
- Review permitting submissions for utility-scale transmission and generation projects.
- Deliver structured legal opinions and findings in standardized formats for client delivery.
Required skills & qualifications
- Active bar membership with current or recent practice in energy regulatory or infrastructure law.
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Direct experience with PJM Interconnection processes — site control requirements and interconnection queue compliance.
- Working knowledge of FERC regulations as they apply to transmission and generation interconnection.
- East Coast-based with East Coast-focused legal practice.
- Background at a law firm, utility, IPP, or federal energy regulator.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience as lead or senior counsel on PJM interconnection matters.
- Prior work with transmission developers, ISOs, or FERC directly.
- Familiarity with utility-scale solar, wind, or transmission permitting in the eastern US.
